Notice anything missing this month?

-A A +A

Have you noticed anything missing? Think back – this is the month of May, and what usually visits us this month? That’s right – Love Bugs! For those of you who are new to Central Florida, the love bugs usually visit us in September and again in May. As of this writing none have been spotted in our neighborhood! No one is complaining about the absence – they are very annoying creatures.

The First Friday gathering at the clubhouse was attended by about 25 residents. A big “thank you” goes out to Nevin Bennett for providing the CD music for the evening. It’s always great to get with friends and neighbors for an evening of dancing, talking, and catching up on what’s going on in the neighborhood. One very important topic was the work going on behind the homes on NW 50th Court. The trees are gone, so now it’s a “wait and see” time to see how the land will be used. The latest word is that the land will be used as a pasture for cows.

The monthly QMPOA meeting was held last Monday. The attendance was very good; however, there were not enough board members for a quorum, so no official business could be conducted. Vacations have started and several board members are out of state. Everyone should have received the document from our attorney that updated the QM covenants. This letter has caused some confusion – several residents thought the letter was a notice that “they” were going to be fined. This is not the case – it was just a letter describing certain regulations regarding our property.

Belea Kenney, one of our residents, will be putting together the QM Reporter for June. The Board is still looking for a volunteer to take on this project. If you are interested, please contact one of the QMPOA board members.

Would you like to serve on the QMPOA board? There is still one vacancy that needs to be filled. Contact any current board member if you are interested.

There will be a big event at the clubhouse this Friday – it is the annual Quail Meadow Derby. Hopefully, you have purchased your tickets and are ready for a night of fun.

The Social Committee is busy working out the details for the upcoming events for our community. June 16 is the annual Birthday Party. This is a free event. It will be a “potluck” dinner with cake and ice cream provided by the social committee. Save this date and plan to join us for a fun time.
