    Recently, I attended a meeting of the Belleview Friends in their historic library building. Someone said the states’ prison agencies use third-grade reading scores to plan for the number of prison beds that will be needed in upcoming years. The lower the scores, the more beds they plan for.

    The Sisterhood of Survivors Breast Cancer Support Group will meet 1 p.m., May 28 at the Ocala West United Methodist Church, 9330 SW 105 St., Ocala - Building 1 - Room 104.

  • Red Hat Fillies celebrate Mother's Day

    The Red Hat Fillies of Ocala Palms celebrated Mother’s Day at Ivy On The Square, Wednesday, May 8. 

    The luncheon was hosted by Carol Pellett and Pat Kettel who presented everyone with a lovely pink silk rose mounted on a paper butterfly and lace.

    Everyone enjoyed their lunch and the atmosphere at this newly-opened restaurant on the square.
